Lead Capture. It’s the Holy Grail of commercial websites. One of the questions I hear often is “Does it have great lead capture?“. The other is, “Does it have great SEO?“.
In a post last week I showed you how to upload and display a .pdf in your posts and do it better. You read that right? Good!
I hinted that next I was going to show you how to use a .pdf as a form of lead capture. That’s what this post is all about.
WHY LEAD CAPTURE?
We want people to read our posts. We want people to get to know us better through those posts. We want them to pick up the phone and call us (or email us) to buy what we’re selling. Once they get to know us, we know they’ll like us and they’ll choose us, right? That’s the power of blogging and it’s true!
Well almost true. The truth is that that’s not always the way it works.
People will forget to come back, they’ll forget about you. Lead Capture is great because now you have the ability to reach out to them (in this case via email).
Lead capture comes in many forms. On a real estate site you might see the “How Much Is My Home Worth?” form of lead capture. If you are on my site right now there’s at least three things asking you to join my weekly newsletter. All I need is your email address – guess what? That’s lead capture too.
I also think of it as incubation. Each week I’m going to remind you to come back and read some of my stuff, get to know me better. When you are ready for a rocking cool website you’ll come back.
SO… SHOW ME HOW TO USE A PDF AS LEAD CAPTURE
Here we go! I think the best way to show you would be to also use it as lead capture itself.
I’ve built a MASSIVE step by step plan that illustrates down to the smallest detail how to do this.
I’ve also included a few options so that you can build it better to suite your needs. It’s pretty incredible. It’s 12 pages in total.
I asked my friend Amy what she thought about this pdf…
STEP ONE: Fill out the form. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it. It’s just a simple email address.
I’ll also sign you up to receive my newsletter if you haven’t already signed up.
Once you fill out the form I’ll give you the 12 page .pdf that shows you step by step how to do it.
STEP TWO: Now go do this for yourself and start building your list(s).
Here’s the form:
See, I told you it was small 😉
