Custom WordPress Websites

YOU DON’T WANT ME TO BUILD YOUR WEBSITE

Yeah I just said that.  As a matter of fact I put it at the top of the page and made in RED.

Yes, I build custom designed WordPress Websites.  I build quite a few of them.  I could build one for you.  But…

I BUILD A COMPLETE PACKAGE THAT MEETS YOUR NEEDS

I don’t just build a website.   I build a complete system.  Once the system is built I teach you to use the system.  A properly built website is a tool used to achieve a particular set of goals.  Yet, if  you don’t know how to use it you’ll never reach those goals.

Which is why, before we do anything we’ll talk (as in you and I) and determine what it is that you want your website to do.  Is your site going to be built for lead capture?  Will it be used to deliver content and information?  Will it be a point of reference?  Or is it your online ‘brochure’ where people will go to find out more about you?  Do you want to be found in Google and if you do, for what search terms?

Next, I’ll put together a detailed proposal that explains everything I’m going to do, when I’ll do it and what is to be expected of you.  When I say, “I’ll do it” – that means that nothing I do is outsourced.  The person doing the coding is the one in the header image above.

Remember, every blog is a website, but not every website is a blog.

Many of the sites I build never write a blog post.  One of the reasons I build on the WordPress platform is so that when the product is done and you want to change anything – you don’t have to go back to a developer, you can change anything you want on your site yourself.  It’s as easy as email!

But before we go much further, there’s something you should know – I think very differently from all the other web developers.  I want you to ‘own’ everything (as in domain name and hosting).

Here’s a small gallery of some of the sites I’ve built.

Here’s what’s included and what I believe…

Structure:
Basic structure should be a WordPress platform (running the most current version) with setup of automatic security scan for possible holes and inaccurate permissions.

Hosting and Domain Name Registration:
I believe strongly that you should “own” everything about your site.  That includes not only the domain name but the hosting as well.  I’ve never understood why developers charge you to build your site and then charge you more to host it.

Some people are paying hundreds of dollars a month for website hosting to their web developer.  Did you know that typical hosting costs around $5 a month. (really)

I’ll guide you to where and how to setup domain registration and hosting if you like.  Whatever you do…  Just don’t

Plugins:

18+ essential WordPress Plugins will be installed, modified and activated.  Plugins fall into a few different categories.  Some plugins enhance the blog look and feel.  Some plugins make it easy for readers to share with others.  Some plugins help push the content to new people outside your sphere.  There are also a few plugins that help maximize SEO (search engine optimization).  Not only do these need to be installed, they must be properly setup and I’ll teach you to properly use them for blog posts.  This also includes setting up a proper sitemap.xml file and auto submission to the search engines.

Features and Elements:

Want to be able to create a place for your Listsings?  Easily change them from “Just Listed” to “Under Contract” to “Sold”?  That’s a great feature to add.  Calls to Action?  I can add an easy way for you to create buttons.   Forms?  We can incorporate the best form system on the planet.  Email Notifications? Autoresponders? You bet!  Would you like to showcase your Client Testimonials?  We could do that too!  All things we’ll discuss before building your site.

Theme:

Whatever strikes your fancy.  I do prefer a premium theme.  Cost of premium themes range from $50 to 100. That doesn’t mean you have to have a premium theme.  Most free and stable themes are located here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

Theme Customization: Basic graphics (custom header image) can be created from your content if desired.

Cost:  Starting at $750 Prepaid (not including premium themes or hosting)
