I like to challenge myself each month on weird stuff. This month I’ve challenged myself to produce a video each day that is short yet informative, educational, and actionable.
Here’s Day 21
I’ve always done work for people. Helping them fix or build new features on their website, that kind of thing.
For the longest time, someone would have a task and I would give them an estimate based on how long I guessed it would take me to accomplish it. Most of the time I guessed on the high side. It was a necessity to float high, but it always bothered me.
A few years ago I found a site called FreshBooks that allowed me to track exactly how much time I spent on a particular task. I started using the free version that allowed me to do continuing work for up to three clients at a time.
Soon I upgraded to the paid version which allowed me to add as many clients as I needed.
The other day, I finally setup a page that described what it was that I could do, how much I charge and that kind of thing. One of the nicest things about this is that it keeps track down to the second!
Now I can do work for you and only charge you for the time I was actually working on it.
That’s the best for me and more importantly, the best for you!
So, what can I work on for you?
Is there a topic you’d like to see me cover?
