This last week I was asked two times what I do. Contrary to what some people think I am not a “Jack of all Trades”, rather far from it. There are certain things I do and quite a few things I won’t do.
To start, I write informative posts on this blog. Hopefully cutting thru the BS and explaining what you need to know and how to best apply that in your daily activities. (at least I hope that’s how it comes out)
I build great discount WordPress Websites / Blogs with a twist. I want to empower you to own everything. I help you set up the hosting in your own name (including ‘Green Hosting’), own the domain name and control your own destiny. I teach those I’ve built a site for to use the new tool to achieve the results they want.
I build custom Page Apps for Facebook Business Pages. I’ve built Apps for very large businesses and politicians as well as for the the smallest of businesses. Each one is hand built from scratch and renders properly for all browsers (incredibly so many others don’t!) I build Apps as squeeze pages for ad campaigns as well.
I build or perform small technical tasks. Not to be confused with a V.A. – think of this as more like having a tech dude in your office that you can call on. I’m not going to fix your network issues (although I know who to refer you to) but if you want your website to do this or that, if you want a widget to go here or a squeeze page built for that – I’m for hire.
I shoot and produce HD commercial video. Matter of fact I’m on a shoot right now! We’re talking short format and high quality. I shoot everything in HD from one of 7 cameras. They say Lighting and Sound can make or break a video, and I couldn’t agree more. From softboxes to diffusers, from shotgun boom mics to lavs, I have a complete portable studio to work in the environment we’re shooting in.
I can build websites and Apps for anywhere in the world and have but when it comes to shooting video it’s a local thing. That brings me to the stuff I do locally and the point of this post.
I love to teach people face to face. I’d be happy if that’s all I did all day! I’ve presented to rooms in the thousands and rooms of two or three. Nothing beats face to face and the smaller the group the better. Although I hold workshops and seminars locally here in the San Francisco Bay Area I love to travel and do my thing anywhere in the world. I feel more than fortunate to have been hired to teach in more than 27 cities outside of California. I’ve been hired by large brands, brokerages, small teams and even a one on one.
What do I teach? Here’s a short run down on the most popular workshops.
Beginning Social Media – An in depth tour and understanding all of the popular social media networks. We’ll look at what works and why as well as what doesn’t. Attendees will create the basics of a social media marketing plan that tailored for them. Focus is on maximizing the benefits of each in the least amount of time as possible.
Google Plus – Google’s new network cannot be ignored. We’ll look at creating a profile that drives traffic to where you want. Finding relevant people to follow and topics to share, as well as creating business pages, photo albums, hangouts, mobile and the all important +1. Maybe the most important part is that we’ll also look at where NOT to spend your time and energy.
Beginning Facebook – a two hour, hands on (bring your laptop) exploration and examination of best practices regarding the Facebook Profile. We’ll set up our complete Profile, create lists, groups, events and learn how to control our privacy and who is allowed to see what. This workshop is all about the Profile.
Advanced Facebook Pages – a two hour, hands on (bring your laptop) workshop centered around the creation and management of Facebook Business Pages. Attendees will learn how to completely create a Page, add apps, encourage relevant LIKEs and engage their followers. This workshop is all about the Page.
Running an Effective Facebook Ad Campaign – Learn the ins and outs of running a Facebook Ad Campaign to achieve results. Learn the science behind CPC, CPM, CTR, Bid Prices, and targeting a specific demographic. We’ll learn how to properly setup A/B testing, internal and external squeeze pages ads.
WordPress – WordPress is the power behind many agents websites, local lifestyle blogs, and even large scale sites like The New York Times. We’ll learn the difference between wordpress.org and wordpress.com. Domain Registration and Hosting. Themes, Plugins, and Widgets. We’ll cover SEO writing techniques, how to properly include images, and embedded videos.
Video for Real Estate – This is a full spectrum video workshop covering everything from Listing Videos to one on one video chats. We’ll examine the gear needed for the beginner to the professional. We’ll cover lighting techniques and sound recording. Post production editing and publishing.
So there’s 7 of the most popular topics I teach. Of course I don’t do it for free but I’m really down to earth on my costs. I’m willing to travel and ready. Drop me an email and let’s start that conversation.
