It was promised a while back and it looks like it’s finally here.
It used to be that all Admins on a Facebook Page were created equal.
While that’s great for ‘Constitutional’ things it’s not great for Pages.
Why?
If you own a Page you might have hired an intern to assist running that Page. Suzie Q was doing a stellar job up until she found a new boyfriend. Since then her work has gone downhill – fast!
Yesterday afternoon you let her go. You had to.
Last night, she (being an equal member of the Page Admins) removed you as an Admin of your very own Page.
That was just the start. Since then she’s been posting non stop on the page what an arrogant insensitive selfish no good bastard you are. Not as Suzie Q but as “The Page”! Ooops! That’s why!
You can now set Admin Roles for Admins. Yay!
Here’s a screen shot of the Admins on our Page for our radio show Social Media Edge
The default is Manager (so Suzie Q is still probably set as Manager) but you can now set them as Content Creator, Moderator, Advertiser (for when I help you run Ad Campaigns) and even Insight Analyst. I’m guessing this would be for SEO kind of people (* see ‘Snake Oil’).
A Manager is the highest level and can do anything. It’s also the default. Guess what that means?
Right now, while you are thinking about it, you should go set the other Admins to what they should be. If you don’t, and you fire Suzie Q and then remember too late I’ll be happy to write a blog post all about it. You don’t really want that – right?
