What is a Google Map Mashup ?
It’s all about Geotagging and video.
Maybe seeing is the easiest way to explain.

Here’s my “demo” map. It contains a couple of points of interest in my neighborhood.

The map is never finished. It could have any number of points added or removed at any time.

The sites I’ve mapped below have:

• a Info Tab with a single picture (with link to a set of pictures)
• a Video Tab in which an embedded video can be played (set to auto or not)
• If preferred, a slideshow can replace either the video or info picture
• Find a video on YouTube you like? Any video can be embedded

What do you need to start? Just One Video ! One single video that we can GeoTag is all it takes. From there you can add or delete points as you like and when you like.

Other interesting aspects:

• This map can be updated by a simple spreadsheet (by the Agent)
• Embed this in a blog post, in a sidebar, or as a single webpage
• Map can be built to most any size (this is large but could be as small as a sidebar widget)
• Map Only or Map with Sidebar Legend (as shown below)
• Link to Directions, link to more info, or link to website, there are no limits

For the Real Estate Agent:

• You could map your listings (with slideshow or video)
• You could map your neighborhood restaurants (interviewing owners or patrons)
• You could map your interesting local points of interest
