Tungle was incredible. Nothing came close to it – when it was working correctly.
Haven’t heard of it?
It was a service that allowed me to share my Google calendar with a client or group of clients and then let them book a time (in their time zone) that worked for them.
Working virtually like I do I’m often scheduling conference calls across different time zones. Tungle made that scheduling easy peasy. Although I was using the free version, it’s something I would have gladly paid for.
In the last few weeks though things seemed to be off. Some of my clients have mentioned they haven’t received my Tungle invite.
Chalk it up to ‘Pilot Error’. It was probably me not clicking on the ‘send button‘ – or so I thought…
Until I saw this in my inbox…
Wait! SUNSETTING? Tungle? Say it isn’t so.
So that explains why the system has been wonky lately!
In their email they mention
As of Monday, December 3rd, 2012 we will shut down the standalone Tungle service. You will continue to be able to use your Tungle.me page until then to schedule meetings and share calendars. We know our dedicated members rely on Tungle every day to manage their calendars and we don’t want to leave you out to dry, so we suggest you check out Doodle to replace Tungle in December.
So for now, I set up a Doodle Account and we’ll see how it works.
Thanks for all you gave Tungle – you will be missed.
UPDATE: Book’d reached out to me on Twitter – signing up for a beta test and we’ll see what happens. Book’d? Yeah, read about them at http://schedulingsoftware.tumblr.com/post/31800235342/replacing-tungle-me
