Three Upcoming Series

You can call them themes or a series.  It doesn’t matter.  Some things just take a whole lot more than a single post.  While riding back from a recent REBarCamp I had a chance to mentally plot out a few.  Once back to a computer I did a little mapping and came up with 3 that I feel are worthy.

We all have to start somewhere Facebook 101 – This will be a series for the absolute beginner yet also provide to the experienced user some enlightening things they didn’t know.  We all have to start somewhere.  The first post starts with setting up your Profile and adjusting your settings.  Next we’ll move to the all important Privacy.  Down the road I want to detail best practices, tips and tricks, groups etc.  They’ll have the tag “Facebook 101” and be easily viewed by following the tag https://areweconnected.com/tag/facebook-101/

strategy Facebook Strategies – Setting up the profile or even the page is fine but how do you use them and how do you generate business from them?  This series will be very different from basic 101 tips.  There’s quite a few strategies from the simplistic to the elaborate and complex.  I hope to better explain and detail all of them so anyone can understand.  This series will carry the tag “Facebook Strategies” so they can be sorted easily https://areweconnected.com/tag/facebook-strategies/.

Filtering Filtering – Strange as that sounds, people get overwhelmed with social media.  They need a filter and they need it to work for them.  They start connecting and following people and suddenly three hours is gone.  I’m not ok with that.  Hey, as an open connector, I follow 12,000+ people on Twitter, 5,000+ on Facebook, 3,000+ on Linkedin, then add Flickr and YouTube!  I read around 200 blog posts every day and comment on a few.  Filtering is really important to me. Each platform is different and often contains different people and a different context.  My goal is to pay attention to those that are most important to me and my business.  In my case that’s the people that refer business to me.  With this series I plan on illustrating the methods I use for each platform that allow me to personally stay in touch and do so in minutes not hours.  As you might guess they’ll all carry the tag “Filtering” and be easily sorted https://areweconnected.com/tag/filtering/

I’m also looking for your input.  These are group discussions.  Have a different opinion or a better idea?  Please share it.  That’s how we all become better at this, right?

He's an avid hockey fan, rides a mountain bike, sometimes rides a road bike, has a few motorcycles (he had a really fast one, bought a cool orange one, rode a really slow one, and now,a perfect "BDR Weapon"). If that isn't enough, he makes cheese and sourdough bread, loves strong beer and good red wine, and poorly plays the Mandolin.

Who to host with?

It's the #1 question I'm asked - where to find inexpensive shared hosting. Here's who I recommend.
Data Servers are a HUGE drain on the power grid. Here's a host that sources 300% of it's power from Wind and Solar! On top of that, their service ROCKS!
Check out GreenGeeks

Need more power?

WPEngine has it!
