The new REBarCamp Website is up and running!
Long Live REBarCamp!
It’s been rebuilt from the ground up. It’s now “Multisite” (WPMU), meaning we can easily setup and host anyone’s event on the same server.
It’s on the freshest version WordPress, running Genesis and the Midnight child theme!
I came across a simple image from my friend Larry Yatkowsky that captured so much of the spirit of REBarCamp. It reminds me that life is short and to make the best of it. I couldn’t think of a better image to use as I setup new sites.
I created a custom splash page while each site is under construction. It’s also the featured image of each “Hello World” post.
It was taken at REBarCamp San Francisco back in 2009. The beautiful woman is my friend, Diane Guercio who seems to always be smiling. She’s leaning back on Joe Ferrara who inspired so many yet was taken away so fast. (remember Blog Tour USA?) We Miss You Joe!
The first REBarCamp to use the new system is a brand new event REBarCamp/Tahoe! Yay!
Speaking of REBarCamps, many have asked about this year and REBarCamp San Francisco (the one that started it all). It has traditionally been held in the coming weeks, but not this year. Andy suggests it may be held in the fall sometime – so there’s your answer.
Of course, in the spirit of REBC… If there’s not one in your area, go out and make one of your own!
