The new buzzword for everything is that there’s an App for that. Overused fer sure!
I just setup two workshops using Eventbrite and as both deal specifically with Facebook I just had to bring them in somehow.
I could always share using the LINK function (and I did). Great for immediate response and social reach but it falls down the wall as time passes.
I could setup an Event on my page directing them to the Eventbrite registration but there’s an inherent problem when you promote an event yet have event registration outside of Facebook. Since Facebook allows you to say that you are attending – many people miss the part about having to go to the registration page as well. You end up with people showing up at the door, not on your list, who swear that they RSVP’d. That’s never a good thing, right?
So I created an App. Just a quick and simple App. It pulls in the upcoming events, puts them on a calendar and allows you to see what’s coming up and register for each workshop.
Down the road I might make it fancy, might make it jazzy, add some social interaction (comments, share) but for now I think I’ll just leave it as is.
The two classes that are up there right now? Both are in Phoenix on April 11th. Beginning Facebook Workshop in the morning and an Advanced Facebook Workshop in the afternoon.
You could click on either of those titles to see the Eventbrite for each or better yet… http://www.facebook.com/MikeMuellerConsulting?sk=app_195451307146320
BTW: Did you notice the icon for the App?
Yup, that’s a little yellow school bus! Pretty special, eh?
