I have never been a fan of the Suggest to Friends Button. Nothing sounds stranger than
“Your friend, Joe Schmoe liked Joe Schmoe, Social Media Ninja on Facebook and suggested you like it too.”
Especially when you get more than a few of them a day.
But Facebook’s new feature of being able to personalize the outgoing message sounded great! Now when you click the Suggest to Friends link you’ll see Add a Personal Message
YAY to Facebook!
Except there’s also another problem. The popup that results doesn’t allow me to easily get to that personal message box. Using a Windows PC running Vista here’s what I see in the 4 major browsers.
I did figure out how I can craftily get to the box but I have to think for the average consumer this is a deal killer.
I know Facebook will fix this and in the end it’s the right thing to do, but for now I’m actually happier with the reduced number of mind numbing Page Suggestions.
