The premise is pretty simple. I have a series of questions that pertain to you and your business. Answer just 5 of them. Write as much as you want At least a paragraph in length for each answer. For the readers, I hope this will show how diverse we all are and how there is no single right answer to success.
Do you have a schedule for writing?
Some people write only when the urge strikes them, others only when they have time, and still others abide by a strict editorial calendar. How do you work this and has that changed over time?
What's the one thing people don't know about you?
We're not talking about skeletons in the closet or your secret agent past. How about a talent, passion, or ________ that just isn't well known (but should be). Give us all the details, how, why and so on.
What post of yours failed and why?
We've all had that one post that we worked incredibly hard on. We thought it was going to catch fire and go viral, but instead it went down in flames - barely read, barely noticed. What was that post and why do you think it happened that way? What would you differently this time?
Who do you admire, look up to, or respect and why?
Not looking for the "Abe Lincoln" answer, so Presidents, Candidates, Authors and Wayne Gretzky are out. Amongst your friends, coworkers, and others in your industry - who is it that your really admire? What is it about them (or their business)?
What is the one thing that you do that your competition does not?
Not looking for the "exceptional service" type of answer. What differentiates you from your competition? What do you have the guts to do that the others don't? Do you buckle down and do cold calls? What is that secret thing?
Have a weak spot?
SuperMan is a comic book. So is WonderWoman. Everyone has a weak spot. What is that one area that you feel could use improvement? Do you avoid it, struggle through it, or know when to call in the Professionals?
How do you plan to grow?
Continual growth is important. As it pertains to learning and staying on top of the business, what is it that you continuously do to 'sharpen the saw'? This could be anything from watching TED talks to reading books, to attending conferences. Where do you find these resources?
Getting the word out
As a blogger, writing is one thing. Content distribution is another. Do you follow a specific plan once the post is published to draw in more readers? Social media, newsletters, reposting...
My ONE Tool
Thinking specifically about technology and tools - what is the one thing that has had a significant and positive impact on your success and in what way? This could be a tool like Dropbox, a smartphone, social media. Something you bought, something you subscribe to, or something that was free.
Monetization or ROI
Few people blog just for the fun of it. Most have a very specific goal in mind. What's the metric you use to determine if your blogging is reaching that goal?
