No really, I do. If I do manage to get a good shot, it was ALL LUCK.
Speaking of luck… Lucky for me there is a plugin called PhotoDropper.
With it I can do a search for Creative Commons Licensed images that are approved for my type of blog and with a few clicks I can find, insert and give credit to the owner and do it all legally.
You can find the plugin for your wordpress blog in the plugin directory.
With a few clicks you can search for an Image, pick from a gallery of applicable ones, insert into your post and give the credit back to the owner as required by the Creative Commons License.
That’s pretty cool.
You know you can’t just do a Google Image Search and use anything you find on the internet right? Copyright Law is implied. That means even though the image isn’t watermarked and nowhere does it say that it’s protected, it is. Use a protected image and the owner can come after you for using it. Usually it’s NOT a “please take that image down” letter but a letter from their attorney demanding payment of cash for your illegal use. Got an extra $30,000 laying around? Yeah, me neither.
I need an interesting image of the number 13 for my ongoing series yesterday and shot the video below to show you just how easy it is. That #14 up there came from the same place.
Hey, want to know where that cool #14 came from? Thanks go to…
