Fun with Facebook’s Open Graph

Facebook revolutionized how websites and you interact with the introduction of their “Open Graph”.  You don’t need to know much about it – leave that to the web developers.  They’ll jump into the Open Graph API and create personalized items like the Share Button, The LIKE button and the LIKE Box – all of which are on this page.

But just because we’re not geeky developers, doesn’t mean that we can’t play with the same information.

For instance by going to this URL (http://graph.facebook.com/mikemueller/) you can see the basic data for my personal Open Graph.

Add “posts” to the end (http://graph.facebook.com/mikemueller/posts) and you’ll see my Open Posts.

Obviously you could change the name in the URL to anyone’s name and see theirs too.  You could change the name to a Facebook Page as well (http://graph.facebook.com/mikemuellerconsulting/)

Pretty cool?

Yeah I can hear you now – Whoopty Doo!  I know, so let’s bump it up a notch!

UPDATE: the following tweeks don’t seem to be working anymore.  I’m looking for a way for them to work again.  (6/17/11)

Assuming you are signed in to Facebook, we can add a little “me” to the string and… well you’ll just have to try it out.

Mind you that unlike the previous links – these are specific to you and only viewable by you!

What can you use stuff like this for?  I’m not sure.  Have any ideas?
