I just posted something similar the other day, however, it wasn't nearly as eloquent as this. It's kind of funny (and also kind of frustrating) to see so many people place the social media "guru gold star" on their chest. As you stated, social media is changing SO rapidly and constantly, and is also still a relatively new medium, it's just silly to think that there could be so many <em>real</em> experts in the field.
